E.L.F. Makeup Haul (FIRST HAUL EVER)

Most of you probably don't know this yet, since I just started this blog, but I am a HUGE fan of the makeup brand elf (otherwise known as eyes lips face).  I have purchased some products at the regular drugstore where they are available, but elf is one of those brands where they have most of their products online with a select number in stores.  Well, when a 50% off studio line products sale came this past Labor Day weekend, I took my chance and made my first order ever!  So as you can see I'm pretty much a beginner at this stuff, since this is my first elf order ever.  But more importantly, it's my first haul on this blog ever!  So without anymore of my endless droans, let's get started, shall we?

So I'm just going to list the products I got and say a little about each of them.  I will definitely be doing reviews on these products once I've tried them, let me know which ones in particular you would like me to review in the comments below. :)

Volume Plumping Mascara (3$): I'm not one of these people who wears mascara all that often.  But I was in need of a new mascara since my old one is, well, old.  You need to replace mascara every 3 months, so I thought, why not try out this one since it only costs 3 dollars (but only 1.50 since it was a sale).  This one had lots of good reviews also so I'm hoping this works and I'll let you know if it does :).

Angled Foundation Brush (3$): Right now I'm in the process of testing out different types of applications for foundation.  I have the small stipple brush and foundation (1 dollar line) brushes from elf, along with a beauty sponge.  This angled one is supposed to be more precise and I've heard angled brushes work great for foundation so I thought I'd test it.  Once again, only 3 dollars.

Powder Brush (3$): The other brush I got was this one because I wanted something better to apply my powder with, and possibly blush.  This will be my first powder brush purchase since before I was just using the brushes that come with the powders I buy.  It's supposed to be really good and I can't wait to try it! To see my review on this brush, click here.

Matte Lip Color (3$): This one I got in coral, and the only reason I got it is because it was the only studio lipstick and I was trying to buy mainly studio items since that was what the sale was.  Also I am wanting to try out new lip products, and this one wasn't gonna break the bank for me.

Contouring Blush and Bronzing Cream (3$): I was excited when I saw this one since I am really wanting a cream bronzer since I'm not much of a fan of powder.  Hopefully I can use the blush also on the apples of my cheeks.  This should be great since I am going to start trying out highlighting and contouring, and this set is a good starter kit for me, I think.

Acne Fighting Foundation (6$): I haven't really mentioned this to anyone yet, but I have some pretty major acne and I wanted to try this since I want to cover it up, but I've also been looking to clear it up, and this product has salicylic acid (an acne-fighting ingredient) in it.  FYI: I got this in the lightest shade, porcelain. I'll definitely be doing a review on this and I'm crossing my fingers this will work!

HD Blush (3$): As you know now, I'm not a fan of powders.  This cream blush looks super awesome and easy since all you need is a tiny amount and as its liquid you can just blend the tiniest amount on your cheeks. Can't wait to try it!!  (Got this in the shade headliner).

All Over Cover Stick (1$): This is the only one I got from the essential line, and I have purchased this in the wrong shade at the store before, thinking i could use it as a contour, but it was too orange.  But other than the shade, I loved the creamy consistency of it and it blended really well.  So I ordered this in the shade ivory and I'm hoping to use this in areas such as under eyes and blemishes.  We'll see how well this works, but if it doesn't, no loss since it's only a buck!

  7. I love how ELF is so affordable! Makes it super easy to experiment and try new things without buyers remorse, haha :) My favorite ELF product is their 3-in-1 mascara and the All Over Color Stick/Shimmering Facial Whip, they're a steal!

  8. I haven't tried elf products lately. But I remember being mostly disappointed with their products. I have heard that they've been launching a lot of new interesting things within the past year and plan on giving them another try. I can't tell from the photo if you got the flat top powder brush, but I remember that always being a staple in my routine. And not to apply powder, but cream or liquid foundations. It's the best foundation/buffing brush you can get for $3!
Look forward to your reviews on these products.

  13. I love elf products :) have you tried their eyeshadow palettes? I have 4 or 5 of them and all of them were $5 or under. Some of the shadows are hit or miss, but for the price, you get a ton of shadows, and most of them are pretty good when you use a primer or base underneath. They're great for beginners or if you just want to mess around with color but don't want to spend a ton of money :)
